What is the Zero Point Sprite?
The Zero Point Sprite is a companion creature introduced in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 — the “Runners” season built around the Shattered Coast island and the Zero Point at its center. Sprites attach to your back, follow you through the match and grant a passive power. Most of them are common elemental helpers; this one is the single Mythic-tier Sprite in the entire loot pool.
Its identity is pure survival. Officially described as “Spawn a Shield Bubble Jr. when you use a healing item on yourself”, it converts every clutch heal into a protected play. No button, no cooldown management — you simply heal, and the dome appears.
Two things make it the most hunted object of the season: a 0.03% base drop chance from Sprite Chests, and the fact that securing one also unlocks the Zero Point Pilot style for the Guardian Battle Pass outfit. Owning it is both a power spike and a status symbol.

Shield Bubble Jr. — the ability in depth
Every time you consume a standard healing item on yourself, the Sprite instantly projects a small shield dome around your position. The bubble blocks incoming bullets and explosives from outside while you finish the animation, reload, or simply reposition inside it.
The practical effect: the most vulnerable seconds of any fight — your healing window — become the safest. In late circles and third-party chaos, that often equals a free reset that opponents physically cannot punish.
Triggers the bubble
- Shield Potions and Small Shield Potions used on yourself
- Med Kits and bandage-style direct heals
- Chug Jug and similar consume-to-heal items
Does NOT trigger the bubble
- Splash-type team heals such as Chug Splashes
- Thrown utility like the Med Mist Grenade
- Healing received from teammates or passive regeneration
Why Zero Build players treat it as best-in-slot
In Zero Build there are no walls to hide behind mid-heal, so the biggest structural weakness of the mode is the healing window itself. The Zero Point Sprite removes that weakness entirely — no other Sprite replicates the effect at Mythic tier. In standard Build modes it remains strong, but structures already cover part of the same job.
How to get it — the three realistic paths
There is no chest, landmark or quest that guarantees a Zero Point Sprite. Every Sprite Chest on the island rolls the same RNG table, so your job is to maximise rolls and play the windows where the odds are boosted. These are the three approaches that actually move the needle.
1 · Route through vaults
Chest type matters more than landing spot. Vaults are the only places with guaranteed Sprite Chests, so a route built around them multiplies your rolls per match.
- Standard vaults guarantee at least one Sprite Chest each
- The two Epic Sprite Vaults contain three Sprite Chests each — top priority
- Plan a loop that clears multiple vaults per match instead of fighting over one
2 · Play during Mastery Monday
Every Monday from 9 AM ET (13:00 UTC) until the same time on Tuesday, the weekly Mastery Monday event boosts the entire rare-Sprite economy. It is by far the best time to grind chests.
- Increased Legendary & Mythic Sprite spawn rates — including Zero Point
- Double XP for all Sprites you level during the window
- 2× Sprite Dust from extractions, funding future buybacks
3 · Trade with the community
Owners can drop their Zero Point Sprite for another player and later re-summon their own copy with Sprite Dust — so giving one away costs nothing permanent. An active community scene (giveaways on X and Sprite-trading Discord servers) has become the most reliable acquisition path for players with limited time.
What 0.03% actually means
1 / 3 333A 0.03% chance is 1 in 3,333 Sprite Chests. If you open 10 Sprite Chests every match, after 100 matches (1,000 chests) your cumulative chance of at least one drop is still only about 26%.
≈ 63%Even after 3,333 chests — the “average” — probability theory gives you roughly a 63% chance of having seen one. That is why the community treats random chest farming as a bonus, not a plan.
3×The rational strategy stack: route vaults for guaranteed Sprite Chests, concentrate playtime inside Mastery Monday windows when the Mythic rate is boosted, and keep the trading route open in parallel. Layered together, they compress weeks of blind grinding into days.
Extraction — locking it in forever
Finding the Sprite is only half the job. A Zero Point Sprite on your back is not yours yet: if you are eliminated before extracting, it drops on the ground for anyone to take. Securing it works like this:
-
Grab it the moment it drops
Walk up to the floating, glowing Sprite and interact. It attaches to your back and the Shield Bubble Jr. effect is active immediately.
-
Choose your extraction method
Fixed Extraction Sites are marked on the map but predictable — other squads camp them. For a 0.03% find, a Portable Extractor is the safer call; buy one at an Extraction Site or earn one from Mastery Quests.
-
Pick a quiet moment and place
Deploy away from the zone edge and active fights. The extraction takes time and broadcasts your position to nearby players.
-
Defend until the crate completes
Hold the area until the timer finishes. Once extraction completes, the Zero Point Sprite is permanently banked to your collection and can be summoned in future matches.
If you die holding an unextracted Zero Point Sprite, it is gone — left on the battlefield for the next player. Extract first, play hero later.
Community trading, step by step
There is no official trade system, but the extraction mechanic enables a reliable community method. Owners keep their copy (it returns via Sprite Dust buyback), which is why giveaways are common. The clean way to run a trade:
-
Match up with your trade partner
Queue into the same low-pressure lobby (Duos with a friend, or a quiet match agreed in a trading community).
-
Both carry a spare Sprite
Each side grabs any second Sprite from a chest first, so your inventory still holds one after handing over the trade piece.
-
Drop, swap, pick up
Drop the Sprite you agreed to give, and pick up the one your partner dropped for you.
-
Extract together
Head to an Extraction Site or place Portable Extractors and secure the traded Sprites. Once extraction completes, each Sprite is permanently in its new owner’s collection.
Where to find partners: official giveaways announced on X by Epic staff, and community hubs like Sprite-trading Discord servers. Never pay real money — legitimate trades cost nothing.
Frequently asked questions
What does the Zero Point Sprite do?
It spawns a Shield Bubble Jr. around you every time you use a healing item on yourself. The dome blocks bullets and explosives from outside while you heal, reload or reposition.
What is the Zero Point Sprite drop rate?
The base drop rate is 0.03% per Sprite Chest — roughly 1 in 3,333. During Mastery Monday the Mythic rate is boosted, making it the best window to farm.
Is there a guaranteed location to find it?
No. It has no fixed spawn point and only comes from Sprite Chests. Vaults guarantee Sprite Chests (Epic Sprite Vaults hold three each), so vault routing is the closest thing to a “location”.
When is Mastery Monday?
Every Monday from 9 AM ET (13:00 UTC) for 24 hours. The event boosts Legendary and Mythic Sprite drops, doubles Sprite XP and doubles Sprite Dust from extractions. The live countdown on this page tracks the next window.
Can I get the Zero Point Sprite by trading?
Yes. Owners can drop it for you and re-summon their own copy later with 7,500 Sprite Dust, so trades and giveaways are common. You must extract the received Sprite to keep it.
What happens if I die before extracting it?
The Sprite drops on the ground for anyone nearby to claim, and your find is lost. Always prioritise extraction — ideally with a Portable Extractor at a quiet spot.
Is it worth using outside Zero Build?
In Build modes it is still strong, but walls already protect your heals, so the impact is smaller. In Zero Build it is widely considered the best Sprite in the game.
Do I get anything besides the ability?
Yes — successfully extracting a Zero Point Sprite unlocks the Zero Point Pilot style for the Guardian Battle Pass outfit, plus the permanent collection slot.
